On December 6, Canadian provincial and territorial ministry of education personnel took part in a virtual forum on the formative assessment uses of provincial/territorial large-scale assessment results. The event included the following:
- A context-setting session titled “Post-Pandemic Reset in Public Education”
- Background information on modernizing Ontario’s large-scale assessment program
- A demonstration of Ontario’s sophisticated e-assessment system, including multi-stage computer adaptive testing model
- A presentation on how one Ontario school board uses large-scale assessment results and other data/information for system and school improvement planning, linked to the District’s framework for learning and multi-year strategic plan
